Spire Bushey Hospital are hosting a free CPD event open to all nurses and Theatre Practitioners.
Innovations and Perioperative Safety (2 hours free AfPP accredited CPD)
- Patient Safety in a perioperative setting (1 hour)
- Exploring the robotic approach to orthopaedic and prostate treatment (1 hour)
The session will provide the opportunity to understand why a never event is so called and the challenges and tools that the perioperative team have to prevent them happening. Discuss and identify the five steps to safer surgery and the process of using each step to reduce the incidence of patient and staff harm.
Gain understanding of technological advances in knee replacement using a robotic approach for surgery and the outcomes associated with this technique.

Be able to discuss the conditions affecting the prostate and the assessment of the conditions that underpin appropriate treatment.
