Role overview 

We’re searching for a Senior Portfolio Options Assessor to join our friendly Asset team at A2Dominion. The Senior Portfolio Options Assessor will lead in carrying out “deeper dive” investigations into assets or groups of assets highlighted as performing poorly and will devise fully worked up options appraisals proposing actions to optimise performance.

Reporting into the Asset Appraisal Manager, the Senior Portfolio Options Assessor will also assist with planning and managing business priorities, ensuring the asset portfolio delivers against the standards set both internally and externally, delivering outstanding performance from a commercial, strategic and social perspective.

Key responsibilities:

  •  To carry out full property performance assessments and options appraisals as directed by the Asset Appraisal Manager
  •  Devise and implement a robust options appraisal process with the Asset Appraisal Manager that delivers optimisation options to deliver the Asset Management Strategy
  • Develop a detailed understanding of both financial and non-financial areas of asset performance across the different markets within the A2Dominion asset portfolio
  • Ability to deliver clear and concise written reports on portfolio performance and intervention options for consideration by senior management within the business
  • Able to capture and analyse large volumes of data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tools that enable the accurate ongoing relative assessment of property performance cognisant of the differing drivers, standards and outcomes required for A2Dominion’s varied markets
  • Direction and management of external consultants and non-line report internal resources in the delivery of assessment and options appraisals
  • Engagement with internal governance groups and other stakeholder groups including residents in relation to options appraisals and recommendations for actions
  • The development of tactical asset management plans in conjunction with the Asset Appraisal Manager, Head of Asset Investment and Strategy and regional staff and ensuring they meet the aspirations of the Group Asset Management Strategy
  • To prepare reports for property disposal and investment planning to ensure that appropriate and informed asset management decisions regarding the stock are taken to ensure the best use of resources
  • To assist in the preparation of Asset Management board papers
  •  Responsible for regular formal and informal consultation with peers across other regions to maximise opportunities for shared learning, benchmarking and best practice

More about you:

For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following:

  •  Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (Grades A* – C)
  •  Strong commercially effective property portfolio management acumen
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills allied with the ability to develop strong alliances with colleagues from within Property Services, across the organisation and with external stakeholders
  • Experience of appraising property opportunities
  • Previous experience of relevant large scale property investment options appraisal
  • Ability to understand, organise and manipulate systems that contain large volumes of data
