Live-In Supervisor

Contract: Permanent.Full time, 37.5 hours per week,
Shift Pattern: 5 days per week (Tuesday to Saturday 08:00 am to 08:00 pm on Rota Basis)
Salary: £27,750 per annum
The Role:
As a Live-In Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating and supporting our Live-In Care team, ensuring our clients receive outstanding, person-centred care and support in the comfort of their own homes.
Working closely with the Live-In Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating Live-In Support Workers, ensuring the right people are matched to the right clients and that care is delivered safely, consistently and in line with the SweetTree Charter.
This is a varied, people-focused role with a strong operational and client-facing element. While primarily supporting our Live-In service, you will also work across our General Homecare and Dementia services in line with operational needs. You will have regular contact with clients, families, Support Workers and healthcare professionals, while also providing direct one-to-one support to clients and covering care visits when required.
You will be an important point of contact for our Live-In teams, providing guidance, wellbeing support and practical assistance, while helping to maintain continuity of care and ensuring our clients’ independence, dignity and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.
Principal Duties:
- Coordinate the work of Live-In Support Workers, ensuring clients receive high-quality, person-centred care and support
- Maintain accurate bookings, shifts and schedules on OneTouch and client profiles, ensuring all information is up to date and any discrepancies are promptly addressed
- Anticipate client support requirements at least four weeks in advance and prepare and issue weekly rotas to Support Workers
- Liaise with clients and their families regarding schedules, changes to team members and care arrangements, ensuring communication is timely, clear and professional
- Match Support Workers to clients based on their individual needs, preferences, skills and experience, while promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
- Prepare and share Support Worker profiles and biographies with clients and families to support effective introductions and matching
- Ensure Support Workers receive all relevant information and documentation before commencing a shift
- Take a lead, front-facing role in Support Worker introductions, facilitations and spot checks, ensuring smooth transitions and positive experiences for both clients and Support Workers
- Support client care reviews and attend meetings where required to promote positive outcomes and continuity of care
- Coordinate changes to Support Worker teams, including handovers and sickness cover, to minimise disruption to clients
- Build effective relationships with families, healthcare professionals and other members of the client’s multi-disciplinary support team
- Undertake regular wellbeing check-ins and high-quality support calls with Support Workers, maintaining accurate records on OneTouch
- Provide direct one-to-one support to clients, including covering care visits, monthly client calls and other client-related communications as required
- Provide emergency shift cover when required, supporting continuity of care and the needs of our clients
- Support the training, development and upskilling of Support Workers, including participating in interviews where required
- Provide day-to-day support to the wider coordination team and work flexibly across Live-In, General Homecare and Dementia services according to operational requirements
- Participate in the On-Call rota as required
- Assist with planning and organising Support Worker travel arrangements, including arrangements for bank holidays and Christmas Day
- Ensure the independence, dignity and wellbeing of clients is maintained at all times
- Deliver an outstanding service to clients, families and Support Workers, helping to maintain SweetTree’s reputation as a premier provider of care
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the service and promote a positive image of our clients and SweetTree Home Care Services
- Attend and contribute to internal meetings and service discussions
- Participate in internal and external training, seminars and development opportunities
- Actively participate in regular supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews, both giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Report any deterioration in a client’s physical or mental health, or any environmental or safety concerns, to the appropriate Manager or Registered Manager as a matter of urgency
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection, health and safety and other relevant policies and procedures
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the service
Person Specification:
- An outgoing, approachable and professional manner with a positive and proactive attitude
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, families, Support Workers and other professionals
- A good understanding of health and social care services, particularly within a community or Live-In care environment
- An understanding of the challenges faced by Live-In Support Workers and the ability to provide appropriate guidance, support and reassurance
- Previous experience working in a care, community or Live-In setting is desirable
- Previous Care Coordination or similar experience within a fast-paced care environment is desirable
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and make sound decisions while also working effectively as part of a wider team
- Good administrative skills and confidence maintaining accurate records and schedules
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook; Access would be desirable
- Reliable, consistent and committed to excellent timekeeping
- Willingness to undertake operational and hands-on tasks, including direct client support and emergency shift cover, when required
- A genuine commitment to promoting independence, dignity, choice and high-quality care
- Willingness to learn, develop and take on additional responsibilities as the service evolves
