The FP&A Manager plays a key role within the Finance Department at the National Theatre, supporting the Deputy Finance Director in delivering high-quality centralised reporting. The role has primary responsibility for consolidating management information across the organisation, ensuring that financial outputs are coherent, accurate, and provide a clear and consistent view of overall performance. The role will deliver key financial information and scenario analysis to support senior decision-making.
A core aspect of the role is the critical review and constructive challenge of forecasts, budgets, and financial plans, alongside leading robust variance analysis and insightful commentary. The FP&A Manager ensures that financial narratives are clear, balanced, and forward-looking, enabling senior stakeholders to understand key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, and to make informed decisions aligned with the Theatre’s artistic and operational priorities.
In addition, the role oversees the production of timely and accurate management accounts for a defined area of the organisation, maintaining strong financial control while partnering with budget holders to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidates will have the following:  
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, translating complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, cost control, and financial planning
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and working cross-organisationally
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
