Finance Business Partner (Property)

Location: Ealing – Hybrid working –  1-2 days in the Ealing office each week

Salary: £79,603 – £83,688

Contract: 12-month secondment, Full time, 35 hours per week

Role Overview

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our fantastic Finance division. This is a new role within A2Dominion and will be working alongside the wider financial reporting team and Property leadership team to review and challenge financial and performance information within the Property business area. The successful candidate will also Influence operational and strategic decision making and provide analysis of financial and non-financial data to provide greater insight on value for money and efficiencies, as well as enhancing commercial awareness and performance.

Responsibilities will also include:

  •  Partner with the Property leadership, including senior managers, to ensure the financial information provided is relevant and enables the business to make informed strategic decisions and to deliver the performance targets across the multiple business areas within the Property team including the repairs joint venture operation
  •  Use financial information to inform business decisions and challenge managers at all levels on costs including overheads, assumptions, and process to ensure the business is operating in a professional and commercial manner and delivering value for money for customers
  • Participate in and contribute to senior management meetings, including the Pyramid joint venture meetings, on the presentation and provocation of financial and business performance
  • Promote and embed a value for money culture across the business by systematically benchmarking across the best in class within and outside sector
  • Work with the Financial Planning & analysis team to understand the relationship between the longer-term plan for property investment vs the cost of responsive repairs in the short term
  • Play the role of independent, critical friend to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of performance, ensuring consistent and justifiable assumptions as a result of strong business partnering relationships and supportive challenge
  • Ensure risks and opportunities to performance and budget/latest forecast are well understood and raised in a timely manner with identification of interventions and risks are accompanied by robust recommendations to get back to target
  • Carry out analytical reviews of the budget and forecast of specific business areas and identify and mitigate risks to the budget and forecast
  • Working with the business to maintain active involvement in the financial and operational performance to draw out insights and intelligence to inform strategic decisions relating to value for money and the aspiration to improve the customer experience.

More about you 

  •  Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Math’s and English (Grades A*- C)
  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA and educated to degree level
  • Previous significant experience in a senior role for a housing association, property management or real estate related company
  • Demonstrable finance experience within a multi-company environment carrying out extensive business partnering with senior management
  • Comfortable analysing and assessing data to draw insights, assess performance and identity required interventions
  • Understands how Finance strategies and interventions support overall Business Strategies and Goals and able to drive effective financial performance through brokering the services of the wider Finance team where necessary
  • Significant experience of service delivery to non-finance personnel at a senior level
