Cambridgeshire County Council Fostering and Adoption Service

By J&C Team

Cambridgeshire County Council’s Fostering and Adoption Service is responsible for finding safe and supportive family homes for children and young people whose parents are unable to look after them. Fostering placements can range from short-term emergency care to permanent fostering arrangements. We also offer short-break respite care to the families of children who have disabilities and specialist placements in cases where, for example, young parents and their children need a home.

Our experienced team of social workers offer our carers support whenever they need it and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We run a wide range of training opportunities and our carers are paid a fee and receive allowances. We need more people to come forward to become foster carers so we can help find families for the county’s children and young people currently in care.

Anyone over the age of 21 can apply to be a foster carer, regardless of marital status or sexuality and we welcome applications from people from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
