About The Role
An exciting opportunity to join Housing Solutions as a Plumbing & Domestic Heating Apprentice, under a fixed term 48 month contract while completing a Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technical qualification. While completing your apprentice you will be working in our friendly and professional DLO team and supporting the provision and delivery of an efficient repairs and maintenance services to the residents of around 7,500 homes in Maidenhead and the surrounding area via our own in-house repairs team.
This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who are technically minded, safety-aware, and committed to developing specialist skills in plumbing and domestic heating systems. It provides hands-on experience in planning, installing, maintaining, and decommissioning a wide range of systems including cold and hot water, rainwater, natural gas, solar thermal, and air source heat pumps. Learners gain expertise in fault diagnosis, electrical control systems, and safe working practices, while also developing professional behaviours such as ethical conduct, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The programme prepares individuals to meet customer needs, comply with industry standards, and contribute confidently to sustainable and efficient building services.
Alongside the technical skills, you’ll learn how to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, record information accurately, and work in a sustainable and professional way. By the end of the programme, you’ll be confident in fixing basic faults and understanding how your work contributes to the wider organisation.
About you
