Halton Fostering Service

By J&C Team

Halton Fostering Service at Halton Borough Council, covers the areas of Widnes and Runcorn providing fostering placements for children in care across the region. We have a need for a broad range of foster carers to meet the needs of all of our children, ranging from babies right up to the ages of 18 and 19. In particular we have a need for placements for teenagers, large sibling groups (3+) and children with complex needs.

As a foster carer, you’ll look after a child or children on a day-to-day basis. You will need to support them, help them grow, develop in confidence and learn new skills. Whilst the prospect of looking after someone else’s child 24/7 can be really daunting for new foster carers, the Fostering Service in Halton is committed to providing you with all the support you will need. As a foster carer, you will be part of a wider team of professionals, including social workers, psychologists and teachers. As well as being allocated your own Supervising Social Worker, you will also have an allocated Support Assistant in the early days to support you. Halton also offer a comprehensive programme of training to help you develop your skills for fostering. www.youcanfoster.org.uk
