Ashcroft Care Services

By J&C Team

Ashcroft is a privately owned limited company delivering high quality support services to adults with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour in Surrey and Sussex. Our first residential home was opened in 1993 in response to a growing need for community-based homes. We have grown into a significant provider of both residential and supported living services.

Our supported living services provide flexible support to people living in their own homes.  The residential services provide intensive support for vulnerable people with complex disabilities and associated challenging behaviour.  Our aim is to support each individual to fulfil their potential and achieve a high quality of life. We focus on people’s abilities, not their disabilities.

At Ashcroft we aspire to deliver support services of the highest possible quality.  Our services are continuously measured against external standards and subject to ongoing process improvement to achieve excellent outcomes.

A job with Ashcroft means that you can make a real difference

Ashcroft provides support services to people with learning disabilities either in their own home or within a residential setting.  The primary focus is on giving people dignity, respect, and support to lead their lives in the way that they want to.  This is achieved through tailored and personalised services for each individual.

Staff enjoy working at Ashcroft; they seldom leave and often return.  Making a real difference in peoples’ lives is satisfying work.  Working either on a one-to-one basis with service-users or in small, close-knit teams, daily life within an Ashcroft service can be highly rewarding.  Everyone has different needs but every step forward is worthwhile.

Roles are often interesting and exciting, such as enabling people to hold down jobs or go to college.  Service users are supported to carry out their own domestic and personal care activities as far as possible.  When supporting service-users with their leisure activities staff may go to the gym or the swimming pool, or to the theatre or cinema, or to tourist attractions.  The ladies often love a beauty treatment, going shopping or out for a coffee.  To enable these activities to take place, Ashcroft needs a mix of employees, including those who can drive a vehicle.

Recruiting the right mix of staff is an important part of our success. Care and support work has traditionally attracted women, but many of the people that Ashcroft supports are young men who need active support from positive male role models.

If you think supporting adults with learning disabilities might be the type of work that you enjoy, Ashcroft would be delighted to hear from you.  Visit www.ashcroftsupport.com to learn more.
