TWO HGV Drivers using Rear Mounted Jet Patcher. Dorchester, Dorset. Temporary Contract – Could be extended. Start Monday 2nd September to 31st December 2019. £9.44 per hour, increasing to £10.20 per hour after 12 weeks. Full Time 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 07.45am to 16.30pm. Our client is Dorset Highways seeking a TWO HGV Drivers using rear mounted jet patcher to join the Dorset Council. You will be based at the Charminster Depot, Dorchester. They are looking for two operatives to driver and operate our high value, specialist spray injection patching machine – Velocity. The team of two will alternate roles throughout the week – driving, operation of rear boom and updating the mobile tablet. Operatives are responsible for planning and prioritising their own workload to ensure that defects are repaired in a timely manner. The role will involve driving all-round the county of Dorset. Overtime and flexible working patterns are available upon request. This is an outdoor and vehicle based role. Exposure to all weather conditions, traffic conditions, hazards connected to exposure to dirt, dust and noise. Will involve handling of chemicals and contact with unknown substances and materials. Contact with the public with risk of challenge or abusive behaviour. The post requires driving throughout the day, working extended periods of concentration needing a full awareness of the immediate environment. Occasion walking, standing, bending and lifting will be required. Must Hold. HGV Driving Licence – CAT C with CPC & Digi Tacho. Passport or Full Birth Certificate with National Insurance Proof.
