Working at Drax is a bit different, we are a business that is working to hard to deliver a zero-carbon, lower cost energy future and you could be too.
Like all colleagues, your position in this journey will be an important one. You’ll be applying your technical knowledge and skills at our Daldowie fuel plant, where we turn waste into biomass, creating a sustainable fuel source.
Working within a mechanical discipline, you’ll play a key role in the successful running of the site. As part of the Mechanical Maintenance Team reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll carry out essential planned and reactive maintenance on plant to ensure the best possible plant effectiveness and availability.
You’ll need mechanical maintenance experience within heavy or process industries coupled with a relevant technical grounding from an apprenticeship and/or ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering. A lot of the work you do will need to be compliant, so a good understanding of relevant health and safety and statutory legislation is key.
You’ll also need great communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork, as well as be comfortable working independently. You’ll be an ambassador for best practice, ensuring that all work in carried our safely and that we maintain good housekeeping.
So, if that sounds like you then why not apply and see where Drax can take you!
